WITH BONUS-PAGES!
(from Gerhard
Wimmer/KISS Fan Shop)
Some news again concerning the Box Set. The oficial release date in Europe
for the Standard Box Set is Dec. 3, 2001 and it will also not be sent out to the stores
before this date. The Standard Box Sets will arrive here on Monday and will be mailed out
on Tueasday. I was also told by the record company, that the European
Version has definately additional pages in the booklet! I am wondering why this
has not been announced earlier... anybody who has ordered the Standard Box Set in the Fan
Shop will receive the European Version with the additional pages in the booklet! In the US
the Box Set entered the Billboard charts at #128 selling almost 20.000 copies the first
week.

NEW AUCTION CATALOG
There is a new Auction Catalog available from Lalands, who are doing the
Kiss auction in December. It features Gene Simmons on the cover. It is nothing special
compared to the first Kiss auction book since this is not just Kiss, but more a general
auction book containing other artists as well. Still very nice, it includes 22 pages on
interesting Kiss stuff including many costume pieces.

KISS BOX SET RELEASED IN THE US
The Kiss Box Set has been released yesterday in the US. Gene & Paul did
a rare in-store appearance in make-up for a record signing at Tower Records at Sunset in
Los Angeles. It was so crowded, that you had to buy a Box Set to be able to get in, and
stand 3 hours in line to get an autograph. The Deluxe Edition outsells the Standard
Edition by far in the US.

KISS IN THE PRESS
(from Siggi)
Gene Simmons on the cover of a German snowboard
magazine? Almost. It is actually "Gian Simmen", it also says "Kiss,
My Ass".
Inside there is a 12-page article including photos from "Gian Simmen". Kiss, or
"Gene Simmons" are hardly mentioned.

NEW KISS KOLLECTOR MAGAZINE OUT
NOW
(from Joop van
Pelt)
The November issue of KISS Kollector magazine has been mailed out to all
members last Tuesday. Since it's our 10th Anniversary issue (and therefore features
congrats messages from Gene and Eric plus others), we added no less than 8 pages (for
free!) making it our biggest issue ever with 48 pages in total. Jampacked as per usual,
the new issue includes part 1 of an exclusive and revealing interview with KISS' former
manager Bill Aucoin, a review of the forthcoming KISS Box Set, a discount coupon for the
Box Set, a contest to win the Konfidential & X-treme Close Up DVD, our annual Eric
Carr Memorial Tribute (it's also the 10th 'anniversary' of Eric's tragic death), lots of
never before published live-on-stage as well as offstage photos from the seventies, and
much, much more.

EUROPEAN KISS COVER STORIES FOR
X-MAS
(from Joop van Pelt)
This year's Christmas will be a good one for the KISS Army, as not only can
we expect the deluxe edition of the KISS Box Set in December but there will also be a few
KISS cover stories thanks to some European magazines.
The December/Christmas issue of Germany's Metal Heart magazine will be out any day now and
features a KISS cover story written by Joop from KISS Kollector Fanclub along with some
never before published photos as provided by the fanclub. Next to the article there will
be bits and pieces from KISS Kollector's Bill Aucoin interview. The Christmas issue of
Holland's Aloha magazine will also feature a KISS cover story. The article will be huge,
possibly 11 or 12 pages long, and will be written this week. Interviews with Paul and Gene
as well as with Joop from KISS Kollector Fanclub have been set up for later this week.
Aloha has been trying to run a big KISS article for a while, but a good reason (the
release of KISS Alive IV, which got cancelled) suddenly went out the window and as setting
up interviews with Gene and Paul was almost impossible, the idea was laid to rest. Until
the KISS Box Set, that is. With the upcoming release of the box set, the magazine saw a
good reason again to finally come up with that huge KISS article. The issue most probably
will hit newsstands in Holland by the end of the month.

KISS COSTUMES
It is time again for some new pages to go online: the
KISS costumes. At the KISS Costumes Pages we take a look at all
the costumes Kiss had in the make-up days. Member by member, year by year (tour by tour)
you will see detailed descriptions and photos. Kiss did not have new costumes every tour.
And not every member changed costumes from one tour to the other. You will be surprised
how many different costumes they wore, even within' the same tour. Also Paul Stanley's
Firehouse helmets are featured.. many thanks to KISS
News Denmark webmaster Jan Laursen for making these great pages... click here to check out the KISS costumes.

KISS ANIMALIZE LIVE DVD
(from
Marcio Siqueira)
You may have heard, that Animalize Live
Uncensored was released on DVD format in Brazil. It´s not official, because it was
released by a brazilian magazine called SHOPPING MUSIC, not for the Record Company.
The show was taken from the japanese VHS. That´s perceptive, because it comes with
inscriptions in portuguese upon a black border and sometimes when it fails you can see the
japanese inscriptions. The quality of sound and image is very good. The cover is
loyal to the original, except for one detail: the back cover have a photo from the
Carnival of Souls CD.
Although it´s a bootleg recording, this item itself worths for the die-hard fans and
collectors.

KISS NEWS FROM GENE
Gene recently did a chat when he was in Miama,
Florida for the Nascar race. According to Gene, Kiss is taking one year off "because
travelling internationally is not safe at the moment"...!? As far as new
recordings we have to "wait and see", and about releasing full concerts on DVD
he said they will be coming "due in time". (The last "full concert"
video-realease was "Animalize live" in 1985.) He also said he is against Napster
& other websites who offer free downloads of music....

KISS AUCTION
(from Jacques
van Gool)
I did speak to Ian Russell today who has left
Manning and now works for a company called Teletrade (which is owned by Manning by the
way).
Either way, the KISS auction is still planned to happen on either December 6 or 7 in New
York and will be managed by a company called Leyland. There will be more items than just
KISS and the catalog will be mailed out "somewhere" next week.
He confirmed once more that in addition to the 'left overs' from last year, there will be
"new" items on the docket!

LATEST KISS NEWS
It seems like there is not much going on with
Kiss at the moment, but all band members are busy with all kind of projects. Ace Frehley
will perform a few songs with his solo band on a benefit show in New York on November 28.
He is also busy working on his solo album. It is said he also sued a toy company for
selling miniature replicas of his guitar without permission. Peter Criss also appeared
recently on a benefit show in New York. Paul Stanley is expected to have his hip operation
soon. It will take some time until he will be ready to go on tour with Kiss again. In fact
today Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will be in Miami, Florida to visit a car race. On Nov.
20, 2001 Gene and Paul will be at Tower Records in Los Angeles for a record signing to
sign the new Kiss Box Sets. Gene is also having his autobiography book out soon and
promotes it on TV-shows in the US, he does also many in store appearances to sign his book
when it comes out, of course only in the USA and Canada.
In fact Kiss have been touring and releasing new material almost every year since 1974.
The only exception was 1981 when they did not tour (for 2 years!). The last full studio
album came out 1998, it came along with a live-CD in 1999, the "Detroit Rock
City" soundtrack was released also in 1999. In a few days the new Box Set will be
released containing 30 previously unrealeased songs. The Farewell tour started in 2000,
continued in 2001 and will continue for a while hopefully next year. Probably no other big
band has been touring and releasing records for such a long time continuously!

KISS BOX SET NOT RELEASED IN
GERMANY
Information comes today from the record
company, that the KISS Box Set will not be released in Germany. Problem is the Logo, which
is forbidden in Germany. The German record company thinks it is not worth a special print
run with the German Logo, so it will not be released at all in Germany. It will be
released in the rest of Europe on November 26, 2001.

NEW KISS DVD?
There is absolutely no information about the
KISS Box Set, which is coming out in 3 weeks. But Frank was very surprised when he bought
the new DVD from The WHO. There was a booklet included promoting other DVD's available
from Icestorm (the company which distributes the DVD's in Germany), which included also a
KISS Farewell DVD for the end of 2001.... (the DVD is of course not coming out yet).
