ACE FREHLEY BIRTHDAY BASH UPDATE

ACE wants to thank everyone for the great response to his Birthday Bash. He appreciates all of the wonderful comments he has received and is really excited that fans are coming from all over the world to his party. So far we have fans attending the event from Japan, Scotland, Holland, Germany, Italy, Canada and all over the US!  He is looking forward to meeting everyone.

We have moved up the starting time of the event to 2PM. Registration for Laminates will begin at 1 PM. Please be sure to bring your confirmation letter and photo ID. Don't forget your camera for your photo with ACE. Also ACE has agreed to sign 1 item per person in addition to the commemorative autographed 8X10. Please note ACE WILL NOT sign any guitars or pick guards. Eddie Trunk has been added to do the Q&A with ACE.

Metal Massacre Collection has released a new Kiss Poster Special magazine in Brazil. It came out folded in 3 parts presenting 2 posters with great known photos.

KISS LIVE IN LAS VEGAS ON DVD IN APRIL
"Kiss live in Las Vegas" will be officially released in Germany with censored logo on April 25. There will also be an uncensored version out in Europe on May 13, 2002. This release is official, but unauthorised. Kiss themselves have nothing to do with this realease at all.

KISS EXPOSED DVD RELEASED IN EUROPE
Universal Austria has just confirmed Kiss News, that Kiss Exposed will be released officially in Europe as an European release in code 0 (code free) on April 22, 2002.

KISS NEWS
Kiss Exposed has been released on DVD in the US. It is in Code 0 (code free) and will be available in the Fan Shop shortly.

The Kiss Live in Las Vegas DVD will not be out before the end of April.

In the meantime, Universal Germany finally decided not to realease the Box Set in Germany at all. It would be to complicate and too expensive to change the Logo... but they are considering a CD-release of the "Best of Solo-Albums".

NEW McFARLANE KISS FIGURES
Later this year McFarlane will produce a Kiss Alive set (probably similar to the one from Metallica) and a 12" Gene Simmons Unmasked ("Creatures of the night") Figure. Prices and release dates are not known yet. Pictures are also not yet available. They will be produced and shipped from Hong Kong no later than November though. These figures are again exclusive figures (probably for Spencers again). The Kiss Fan Shop will have them available as well.

WISH YOU WERE DEAD DVD

Got my WISH YOU WERE DEAD DVD today. Here's a scan of the front cover. In the "Starring" info Gene is mentioned as GENE 'KISS' SIMMONS.
Released by Dutch Filmworks, this DVD was only released in the Netherlands with optional Dutch subtitles and therefore also interesting for European fans. Also has a short featurette (interviews, making of) in which Gene appears. The movie sucks but so did Red Surf which didn't keep me from buying it.
It appears it was released in limited quantities as it is registered as either 'deleted' or 'no longer available' in ALL systems of online shops as well as 'normal' shops that I visited. www.bol.com 's Dutch site is the only one that still has it available.

60 cm SINGING LOVE GUN DOLLS FROM "SPENCERS"
"Spencers" is a chain store in the USA who are selling a lot of exclusive Kiss merchandise you can't get anywhere else. Some time ago they released the singing 24" Love Gun dolls. They did cost US $ 180,- each in the stores in the US. Not including shipping and taxes. Now you can also get them in the Fan Shop for less than half the price! They still have some figures left and sell them cheap now. Each single figure can be orderd alone except Gene Simmons. Gene Simmons is only available in the set. Spencers are probably short on Gene Simmons figures, more people bought the single Gene doll in the stores, so they have less left over and they do not offer them now as a single doll, only in the set. KISS EXPOSED DVD RELEASED MARCH 19
Kiss Exposed (homevideo from 1986) will be released on DVD format in region code 1 (USA & Canada) on March 19,  2002 in the USA only. This adds just one more odd DVD release in Kiss history, as Kiss Konfidential/X-treme close up so far has only been realeased in region code 2 in a few selected countries. MTV Unplugged was available in region code 0 in the US for a very short time only. Second coming is released in most countries (at different times through different distributers though...), but no other video has yet been released on DVD. While almost all other bands have their videos available on DVD as well, featuring bonus material, you won't find any "extras" on any Kiss DVDs (except Second coming).

I never heard about Gene's last movie project - wish you were dead- again and was still waiting for it to be released in theatres until... I saw the rental DVD today!

Turns out this crappy movie (not as bad as Red Surf though) has been available on rental DVD for quite awhile here in Holland already! Also includes a 'Making off' incl. Gene.

Hi it's Phil From NYC, I have been so busy, I started producing my own cable show on time warner cable called Staten Island Rocks. I just started shooting, I have to edit still, but I shoot the Atlanta Kiss Expo it was awesome, I  had so much fun with the Fellow Kiss Fan's and the costume contest, and Gene Simmons with Eric Singer called in and did a Q & A with the Fan's for about 10 minutes, Ron Keel and Todd Howarth from Frehely's comet days, I asked Gene a question about Peter Criss will he play with Kiss Again he answered Peter was asked to  appear at the lane bryant show he told Gene that he was booked up that day, and that Peter is busy recording a jazz CD. I seen Gene and Paul at the NYC boxset signing got it signed by them both and Gene
in the east village barnes and noble signing for his book kiss and makeup, I had 3 books signed one for me and 2 for other kiss fan's, I know from Australia, Roxxy and Basschild   they couldn't get the book out there so, I helped them out. then went to meet Gene again at the Virgin Atlantic Store in Times Square, I meet and pickup my friends from South Carolina, Donna and Alysen two southern bells I meet them at the airport in Newark NJ and meet my Friend AL an NYC police officer friend which he arraigned a private meet with Gene before in back of the table before Gene came out to greet everyone it was awesome meeting him again he was super nice to everyone that day, and the band Kissnation was there we took pic's with them also nice guy's one of the guy's from Art Asylum there producing new Kiss Toys  Thanks to AL for setting that up, Donna and Alysen never meet Gene in person they were so happy and thrilled, then we hit ground Zero we got to go to a special viewing platform for family members we all prayed and I said a pray for my friend who perished he was a firefighter with ladder company # 3 Steven Olsen Great guy God bless rest in peace buddy, I have a lot of photo's of al these events plus some outside Lane Bryant show but from the back door them coming out if you like I
send them in for you guy's overseas to see what's going on with Kiss, We all watched Kiss from the bar in the Hilton hotel in Atlanta that Sunday night from the Kiss Expo we all cheer our Favorite Band and we cheered our hearts out. Thank you Rock on and Peace out. Phil
