ERIC SINGER IN QUEEN!

Right now, performing live from Amsterdam on TV, is Queen for our annual Queensday. To my big surprise on drums: ERIC SINGER! Busy man indeed, Saturday he was on Ace bash, Sunday the NY Kiss Expo and today already here performing with Brian May and Roger Taylor in "Queen". Just like Kiss with 2 original members with substitute members. Cool too see Eric on TV with these rockers!

GENE SIMMONS & BOMB THREATS AT ACE BIRTHDAY BASH 2002
Yesterday "Ace Frehleys Birthday Bash 2002" took place in New York. Everybody was interested to hear what Ace had to say about Kiss' situation.... there are countless postings on various newsgroups all over the internet from people reporting about this event. Here is a rough summary of all these postings:

- entrance fee was about US $ 150,-. Attenders got a numbered laminate, a pre-signed Ace Frehley picture and a few little goodies. Food was also free.
- Ace got into the building surrounded by bodyguards and started signing autographs for the fans (who stood in line for hours). He also posed for one photo.  There was a sign saying "extra autographs $ 50,-". No hand shakes...
- Gene Simmons all of a sudden came in, presented Ace a birthday cake and then immediately left the building again
- there was a bomb threat and the building had to be evacuated for a while
- There was a question-answer session. Ace said, he has not been in Kiss for a while already, and that his solo-album will be out in the summer. Ace seems to be extremely pissed off at Gene and repeatedly said, that all he cares about is money.
- Ace had no time attending the taping for "American Bandstand"

GENE SIMMONS COLD CAST DESTROYER FIGURINE
The Gene Simmons Cold Cast Detroyer Figurine will be released in Juli. It comes with Gene's bass on a base in a great box. The Kiss Fan Shop takes already pre-orers. The Statue measures about 33 cm (13 inces). The Figure will be shipped out at the end of July directly from a warehouse in Holland by a shipping company. The Figure will retail in the US for about US $ 49,- to US $ 59,- (around € 56,- to € 68,-, net without postage and taxes).

KISS ALIVE IV NEWS
According to Universal the scheduled release date for Alive IV is July 16, 2002. There will also be 2 new studio songs on the album. It will be 2 new songs the band is working on at the moment and not songs that are already done. No information is yet available, if Ace Frehley will be playing on the new studio tracks, but it won't be a surprise to hear Tommy Thayer on the new album on guitar. Tommy Thayer already replaced Ace Frehley at the taping for American Bandstand and at a private concert the band gave in Jamaica recently. Most likely Eric Singer will be on the drums. The cover will also change significant to the version that was origianlly planned. Let's wait and see, more news soon...

GENE SIMMONS AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN GERMAN?
A German publisher is in negotiations to get the rights to release "Kiss and make-up" in German. An Italian version should be released soon. The book is already available in English and Japanese. More language-editions are not planned at the moment.

KISS ON AMERICAN BANDSTAND

Kiss will be performing on the 50th anniversary special of American Bandstand, hosted by Dick Clark. Other superstar sartists and performers are scheduled to appear. Viewers will also witness a once in a lifetime supergroup performance involving many of the artists scheduled to perform. The show will air on the ABC television network, Friday, May 3rd at 8pm/7pm Central. It's an evening of television that shouldn't be missed! Especially for fans of Kiss! Click here for details.

KISS FILMING FOR AMERICAN BANDSTAND - WITOUT ACE FREHLEY!

I went to the 50th anniversary of American Bandstand filming of Kiss on April 19,2002, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena California. The line up was Gene, Paul, Eric and possibly Tommy. Still not positive who was in Ace makeup but it was not Ace.  They performed one song, "Detroit Rock City." Kiss had a large amount of pyrotechnics. There was basically a wall of sparks behind Eric. Gene and Paul looked great, pure classic Kiss, with all of their classic moves. The filming started with Dick Clark talking to the audience. He was very friendly and appreciated everyone showing up. Kiss came out and played Detroit Rock City, then left the stage. The cameras filmed them during their performance. After they left the stage, Detroit Rock City was played over the sound system and the cameras filmed some of the audience. The entire filming lasted approximately 30 minutes.

KISS ARMY NORWAY FAREWELL TOUR WITH ERIC SINGER

Eric Singer is ready to rock Scandinavia this Spring. He will be attend the KISS ARMY NORWAY FAREWELL TOUR 2001/2002. The dates are 9th of May in Halden, 10th of May in Gjovik, 11 of May in Bodo and 12 of May in Sweden. He will do Q & A, announce the make up contest winner and sign autographs. Merchandise will also be available. The Kiss Army Norway Farewell tour has been on the road since February 2001. On those parties there is screening of Kiss Videos, Kiss Karaoke, Tribute band playing, make up contest and so forth. The tour has so far been a big succsess and will continue thru 2002/2003. The release-date of the German Kiss in Vegas DVD has been pushed back to May 8, 2002 verschoben. It is also available on VHS video. Today the cover has been finished. KISS DVD AND CD RELEASES
- KISS in Vegas (already out in the US) will hit stores in Germany on April 24, 2002 and will be available on VHS and DVD. Compared to the US-version it will have a different cover and as a bonus-feature: collectible stuff on DVD-Rom
- Kiss Exposed (already out in the US) will also be out in Europe on April 25, 2002 in PAL system (no bonus material)
- Alive IV is scheduled for a July 2002 release exactly like it was planned already 2 years ago: same cover, same set-list, same show (Vancouver Millenium concert 1999/2000)

KISS MAKE PIECE WITH MERCURY

Kiss look like they have made peace with their long time label Mercury Records, as the label have tentatively scheduled Alive IV for release on August 20.
Speculation continues over whether Kiss will then leave the label, with Spitfire Records said to be one label that the band have already met with.
