CLOWNWHITE NEWS CONTINUED...
??
(from Deno Tofalos)
To put this down in a little more detail (and I think I owe it to a few people!) the main reason for finishing the magazine is pretty simple. CASH! OK - I know it's been hard commitment wise (keeping to a quarterly schedule is tough - especially when most fans want you to do it more often) but I really believed I could put up with that. My part-time job (at x-records, by the way) has helped keep me afloat while trying my best to realise the dream. And my dream is not one based on money - but simply to not have to struggle so much - and be able to work for myself. I loved doing this (for the most part) and the fact that it was about KISS was always gonna mean that the magazine 'looked' good. So to decide I was going to call it a day was not an easy decision - but I just had to do it. When you're friends with the firm printing your product, it gets embarrassing to keep delaying them the money you owe. And it wasn't that I didn't have the money either. I too, had to wait patiently for the revenue from 'copy sales' to come in (CLOWN WHITE took virtually 'nothing' from advertising). Starting out with 'no capital' to invest (in fact I was overdrawn at the bank when I began) finally caught up with me - and I really didn't want that to happen. I thought it would 'grow' quicker than it did (sales are approx. 4,000 now) but I didn't have the reserves to advertise myself - or - to increase the size of the magazine, making it a more viable publication to 'would-be' distributors.

CLOWNWHITE NEWS
?
(from Deno Tofalos)

It was never 'meant' to happen - but sadly it has. The UK's 'premier' KISS magazine, CLOWN WHITE will finish soon - without it seems, a final issue! The 'constant' pressure of having to honour commitments plus a lack of financial capital has finally taken it's toll - and although there were plans to produce one final issue (a 'mega' 96 page edition) for the final shows at 'Madison Square' - those plans now seem very unlikely. Subscribers are asked to be patient while we tie-up all the loose ends - but they will ALL be contacted soon. Full details will follow tomorrow...

WHAT'S GOING ON WITH KISS?

As you could read before in Kissnews, things are very hectic in the Kiss camp these days. The four band-members just can't come to an agreement on the future of the band. Actually there were dates already set in the US until the end of October, followed by a Japanese and European tour. The Japanese tour was already officially announced and got cancelled or "postponed" just a week later after they probably found out that they might not come to an agreement until November. The rest of the planned shows in the US never got announced and will not take place now. As of now, the last show with the original four will take place on October 7, 2000 in North Charleston, SC. Anybody who wants to get sure to see the most chaotic band in the world one more time... it's about time to book your last minute flight... but despite of their different point of views it is expected that they will finally come to some sort of agreement for a respectable way to say goodbye and do at least a final show at Madison Square Garden. But with Kiss, things change daily and you never know what happens. Only time will tell...

ERIC SINGER TO REPLACE PETER CRISS?

The rumour started on the internet quite a while ago and doesn't go away, that Kiss asked Eric Singer, if he would replace Peter Criss on the drums, if they don't come to an agreement with Peter. Eric Singer still has not made any statements about this rumour. In other words, he did not deny it. The band has just cancelled or "postponed" the Japanese tour (for which they did not give any official reason at all, not even a "made-up excuse" like they did with Alive IV), and the European tour has also never been announced. In general it is not just about Peter Criss, it's all 4 members who just can't come to an agreement about the future of the band. What will happen? Will they finally come to an agreement and will there be a Japanese and European tour and a final show at Madison Square Garden? Or will Peter and Ace be replaced? And who replaces Ace? Could it be Tommy Thayer? Or maybe Bruce Kulick? With or without make-up? What about Alive IV? Will it ever come out and who will be playing on it? Will Kiss get a Grammy nomination for being the most chaotic band in the world? Many questions which might be answered here in the news any day now...

This is just one of many pages from the biography. The other biography-pages are still in the building and testing-phrase and are not available online yet, so the links to these pages are not working yet. Click here to see the Gene Simmons Homestory or click on the link on the left side.

BITS & PIECES

Nothing really spectacular to report the last couple of days in the Kissworld, but here are some bits & pieces of rumours & stories....

* Kiss have cancelled their concert in Lake Placid (Sept. 24th) due to poor ticket sales. Attandance of recent Kiss shows the last few weeks dropped compared to the awesome start of the tour. These days the band plays to an average crowd of about 6-8.000 people. At the start of the tour they played several times for more than 20.000 per show.

* Rumours say Kiss called Eric Singer and asked him if he would jump in and play in Peters make-up if Peter quits. Eric Singer has so far neither confirmed or denied this rumour, but according to Kissonline this rumour is not true.

*Kiss played a short medley during the encores at a recend concert in Syracuse, New York.

DETROIT ROCK CITY PROMO CAMPAIGN IN HOLLAND

(from Kiss Kollector Online)
A few weeks ago KISS Kollector Fanclub received the inlays for both the
DVD and VHS versions of the Detroit Rock City from the Dutch label
distributing the movie overhere.

To promote the upcoming release of Detroit Rock City in Holland (the DVD
and the rental VHS both will be out on October 24), a little promo stand
has also been made. It's double sided and features the title of the movie
on one side and "Disco Sucks!" on the other side.

Full color, full page adverts have also appeared in the new issues of
several videostore magazines. No commericial magazine in
Holland has reviewed the movie yet as it's still one month until the
official release, but entertainment industry publication Muziek & Beeld
has paid attention to the movie twice. Their latest issue includes a short
review.

SPANISH PSYCHO CIRCUS COMICS DISCONTINUED?

(from Carlos Pascual/ www.kissteria.com )

As it seems the current issue of Pyscho Circus comic (#17) will be the last being published in Spain. Send e-mail to: kissteria@flashmail.com placing on subject PYSCHO CIRCUS SPANISH COMIC and on the body your full name, address and email.

KISS TOUR IN EUROPE?

If the Kiss tour in Europe will indeed happen in December, the tour-dates should be announced any day now. The promoters say there is a 50/50 chance it will happen, but if you know how chaotic things are with Kiss right now, the chances might be a lot less. So don't book your holidays yet. If the tour is not going to take place in December it will be very likely that the tour will still happen early next year.

KISS IN GERMANY?

There are a lot of rumours these days about a German tour in December. The problem seems to be to find out the difference between rumours and facts.  Rumours say Coco Tours will do some Kiss shows in Germany mid December, the tour is more or less inofficially confirmed by the promoters and should get announced any day now. One of the shows is planned in Mannheim on Dec. 12, 2000. The fact is that there are no contracts signed yet for the tour, also the Japanese tour has not been officially confirmed yet. Things are going pretty hectic in the KISS camp these days and as soon as things get confirmed, you will be able to read it right here in the news.

NEW KISS BOOTLEGS

(from Pablo Arlandini)
Here's the info about the last two bootleg CDs of KISS:

WHAT HAPPENED IN ANAHEIM
(FH-001/2 by Firehouse Records)
WhathappenedinAnaheim.gif (6133 Byte)
Source: Anaheim, CA 18-3-2000, excepted (*) from Phoenix, AZ 11-3-2000
CD 1: intro - detroit rock city - shout it out loud - deuce - i love it loud - shock me - firehouse - do you love me - calling dr love - psycho circus - heaven's on fire - let me go rock n roll - 2000 man - ace solo
CD 2: lick it up - gene solo - god of thunder - cold gin - 100000 years - love gun - black diamond - beth - rock n roll all nite - detroit rock city (*) - shout it out loud (*) - heaven's on fire (*)
Comments: Awesome quality audience recording of the show in Anaheim, where Gene & Paul had many problems with their elevation systems on God of thunder and Love gun. Due that fact, Love gun was played twice, the first time with Gene on vocals. Anyway, it was a very enjoyable concert. The 3 songs from Phoenix was taken from a TV broadcast with perfect soundboard quality.

LAST KISS

(TLA 2000)
Source: Ace Frehley diverse demos & Kiss rare tracks.
ACE FREHLEY DEMOS 1995:
Take me to the city - Don't wanna loose you - Sister - Too far gone
ACE FREHLEY DEMOS 1985-87:
Baby it's you - Back into my arms - Into the night - Angel - Back on the streets - Stranger in a strange land - Dolls - We got your rock - I'm so wired
KISS SONGS:
LastKiss.gif (8526 Byte)
Detroit rock city (Toronto 1998)
Shandi (Australia 1997)
Raise your glasses (demo 1997)
In your face (non album track 1998)
Nothing can keep me from you (D.R.C. movie soundtrack 1999)
Shocker (P. Stanley from Shocker movie soundtrack 1989)
Christine 16 (Detroit 1996)
Beth (Union unplugged in Cleveland 1998)
Comments: All the songs included on this CD have great quality, but it's a
kinda weird compilation with not much sense. Most of that stuff can be found
in previous official ann bootleg editions.
