KISS MELBOURNE
(from Ivano Ravanello)
Excitement is building in the lead up to February 28 in Melbourne Australia. A huge billboard now presides on the City Link Bridge which crosses over Melbourne's Docklands precinct. Near this vicinity, you can see the Telstra Dome in the background. It looks awesome. Also, a big screen on at the front of The Dome, plays Kiss and MSO footage during the day & evening.

PAUL AT NAMM IN ANAHEIN, CA ON JAN. 17 & 18
(from Bret)
Paul was in costume 2 days, signing autographs, taking pictures w/ fans, and showing off his new guitars. It was incredible to see him up close in the "new" costume. Gene, Eric, Bruce, and Tommy Thayer were there at various times, plus members of every band you can think of. Even Eddie Van Halen was there, completely drunk, refusing to sign autographs for the huge crowd that waited hours for him. Tommy said his outfit will be just like the Alive era Ace.

AEROSMITH, KISS SET TO ROCK'N' ROLL ALL NIGHT
(from www.Billboard.com)
Aerosmith and Kiss will embark on a co-headlining North American tour beginning in August and running through October, sources confirm. The tour of approximately 40 dates will be produced by Clear Channel Entertainment and is expected to play 90% amphitheaters, with arenas and possibly a couple of stadiums also in the mix. Kiss will perform in full makeup, sources say, and Aerosmith will be touring in support of a new Columbia blues album.

"We want to really try to get everybody in a room at the same time," bassist Tom Hamilton told Billboard.com about the album last September. "It's funny because it triggers all of the competition and uncomfortableness that we've always had going into the studio, and it's going to mean everybody is going to have to be open, vulnerable, and brave, and go in there and do that process like we used to do it."

Aerosmith grossed nearly $40 million from touring in 2002. The group was recently nominated for the best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal for "Girls of Summer," drawn from last year's "O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits" compilation. Aerosmith has also signed on to appear at the Feb. 7 Salute to the Blues concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

As for Kiss, the group grossed more than $60 million from its 2000-2001 "farewell" tour. As previously reported, Kiss will join the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for a one-off Feb. 28 concert at the city's 48,000-capacity Telestra Dome. The group has also scheduled a March 11-13 stand at Tokyo's Budokan Hall.

TOKYO SHOWS SOLD OUT
(from Tristan Glassey)
Maybe you'd like to know that the official website of promoter UDO announce the three March KISS shows in Tokyo as SOLD OUT. Click on www.udo.co.jp/app/ticket/entry.jsp?c=466 to see the original information. Great news.

On the other hand, according to Downunder KISS fans, it seems that the Australian newspaper Herald Sun has told about rather bad tickets sales for the KISS Symphony event in Melbourne. "Only" 15000 tickets sold for a 48'000 seater. But there are still 50 days to go before the concert.

DO YOU REMEMBER ROCK'N' ROLL RADIO
That's the title of the new song KISS have recorded for the Ramones Tribute album (due to be released February 11 in the US). Gene and Paul share lyrics similar to "Shout it out loud", although Paul sings the most. The complete song is 3:34 minutes long and can already be found and downloaded on the internet....

THE FIRST MILLION!
The one millionth visitor has visited KISS NEWS/THE FAN SHOP since March 2000. The increasing heavy traffic on this website has also negative sides. Maintaining the website has become a very costly factor. There have been no additions to the Fan- and Tattoo-pages lately. There will be changes in the coming weeks. This website will then continue to grow and there will also be a big update on all the Fan- and Tattoo-pages as soon as possible. If you notice any problems (photo or page not showing up or broken links) please send an e-mail to webmaster@kissfanshop.de to make sure the problem gets solved! Thank you!
