KISS IN THE PRESS
(from Marcio)
Kiss (Gene Simmons) and Union (Bruce Kulick) are on the cover (little box) of the latest issue of Metal Massacre magazine in Brazil.  It came out with a great interview with Bruce (4 pages) and a great Kiss article (6 pages) presenting curiosities, discography and great known photos as well.

The new DVD KISS Live In Las Vegas will be released in Holland and a few other European countries through the same label that put out The Second Coming overhere. Check out the very cool cover as it appeared in their brandnew catalog, in which they state: "October 29, 1999 the entire KISS Army was ready for a live webcast from Las Vegas of their favorite group… and then the internet crashed. Now for all those fans here's that webcast on DVD… garantueed crashproof!" An exact release date seems unknown at the moment, however.

ACE FREHLEY NEWS
(from Kiss News France/Tristan)
People will be interested in learning that Ace was paid
US $120'000 per hour of services (in fact almost of the pure presence) for the Lane Bryant fashion show. He said it on line to the radio operator at WNEW 102.7 (New York) last Saturday evening, while laughing that it was the main reason he accepted to perform. He also added, that Gene $$immons had spent the night with Anna Nicole Smith. About an eventual Farewell tour, Ace said, that he really wants to do it, but the negotiations have to go on.

"Animalize" guitarist Mark St. John was supposed to be Special Guest recently on some Kiss Expos, but did not show up. What has happened? articleSonntag-MorgenmagazinGiessen2002-02-10Kiss-RammstainKonzertLausitz.gif (5061 Byte)KISS TO HIT THE ROAD AGAIN!?
It is not yet confirmed at the moment, if Kiss will really play at the festival at the Lausitz in Germany in August. Rumours started in the local sunday-press from Giessen (see picture). No contracts are signed as of today...

But there are plans to make a big worldwide KISS/Aerosmith Co-Headline tour happen this summer. Again, nothing has been confirmed by now. There are plans for Kiss for an extended upcoming up to 100 city tour, including Ace Frehley (if he is signing the new contract, that is...) and Eric Singer. It is very likely, that the tour will start already this summer...

KISS CREATURES OF THE NIGHT ACTION FIGUREN
(from Markus)
I e-mailed McFarlane and asked them, why the new Action Figure series is not called "UNMASKED", because they are obviously coming from that period. I have received this answer...

Hi, Markus. I don't think there's much that can be done about the name at this point. You should know, however, that Todd and Gene discuss these projects quite a bit before production even starts, and Gene is kept informed every step of the way, so I'm pretty sure that Gene was involved in choosing both the name and the costumes for the figures.

Sorry I can't do anything at this point to change the name on the packaging. I do appreciate the attention to detail that you Kiss fans have. That's one of the reasons it's always fun for us to manufacture Kiss products. Kiss fans are like none other in their loyalty and dedication to the band, and that's why our Kiss figures are the most accurate and lifelike figures on the market. If there is a time discrepancy between the name and the costumes, I apologize.

Thanks for writing and for your interest in Kiss and McFarlane Toys.

All the best,
Brad Gould
Managing Editor
Todd McFarlane Productions.

KISS CREATURES OF THE NIGHT ACTION FIGURES
(from www.mcfarlane.com)
KISS Alive - released in 2000 -- was the first "realistic"-style set of figures McFarlane Toys created of the band and it was a smash hit with fans. Those fans, of course, immediately demanded more. And here it is: Our newest KISS action figure line is KISS Creatures of the Night, based on the 1982 album Creatures of the Night. Photo reference from the ensuing world tour was used in the sculpting of these figures.

KISS AND RAMMSTEIN TO PLAY AT FESTIVAL IN LAUSITZ (GERMANY)?
(from www.sport1.de via Thomas Jung)
Hello, since I have not seen this rumour anywhere on a Kiss website, I though I'd send you the following info:

[...] Together with the motor-sportsmen, there will be a Rock Festival held at the Lausitz, where you can see Kiss and Rammstein amongst others.[...]

There are 2 dates mentioned for the Lausitz: June 15 and August 31. The date with the Rock-Festival should be most likely August 31. Click  here to read the complete article (in German).

This article was also written in a local sunday newspaper, where Kiss and Rammstein were even mentioned in the headline.

KISS IN THE PRESS magGoldmineNr562-2002-02-08USA.gif (3644 Byte)
(from Gerhard Wimmer/KISS Fan Shop)
As already mentioned before, Kiss are on the front-cover of the latest issue of "Goldmine" magazine (Feb. 8, 2002). This is a collectible magazine from the US. It includes an interview with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. We learn, that  Paul Stanley did not like Bruce Fairbairn as the producer for the "Psycho Circus" album. He likes Eric Singer being the new drummer and says, that there might be more to come after the Farewell Tour...

Gene Simmons says, that the Reunion tour was a terrible nightmare because of Peter Criss' and Ace Frehley's behaviour. He also mentions, that there might be a possibility, that Tommy Thayer will replace Ace Frehley if it has to be... he also says, that Kiss will be touring in Europe, Asia and South America soon!

KISS PLAY AT FASHION SHOW/KISS TOUR
Kiss will play at the Lane Bryant Fashion Show on February 6 at 7 pm EST. (that is Feb, 7 at 1 am in the morning European time). Kiss are supposed to play 5 songs while the models will walk the runway. The songs will be pre-recorded live (just like the Wrestling appearance).
It is rumoured that Kiss will get a very, very big check for this appearance...

If you have a sleepless night on February 6, you may watch this event on the website of Lane Bryant at:
http://www.lanebryant.com/application/fashionshow/

Kiss are also expected to go on tour this year. There are rumours that Kiss might play at some European festivals in the summer already, but it is more likely for them to do an extended Headline Tour later on. Time will tell, and you will get the infos right here as soon as possible.
