"
TIAZINHA" PLAYS A KISS SONG
(from Marcio Siqueira)
One of the most famous brazilian artists, Suzana Alves, the "Tiazinha" (it means little aunt) formed a band called TIAZINHA AND THE MASKED KNIGHTS and they recorded a version in portuguese for "Rock and Roll all nite". She's known for wear a mask and a whip to punish the men.  It makes a part of the sexual fantasy of the brazilian men.  She already was mentioned sometimes for Gene Simmons ins some interviews in Brazil.   She was the cover of the brazilian Playboy magazine for twice.   Would you like to know more about her?   Go at: www.uhtiazinha.com.br.   She's very gorgeous!!

NEW KISS DVD
(from Roman Schwarz)
On August 20, 2001 was the release of the new KISS DVD Kiss Konfidential & X-Treme Close Up. The cover does not really fit to the line-up back then. If you open it, it looks already better. I suppose it is only available in England and Australia (code 2 and code 4).
The content: both videos on one DVD, can be selected separate. The picture quality could be better. It has been transferred from NTSC to PAL. I would say the laserdisc has a better picture quality. The Audio is either PCM or Dolby Digital 2.0 . There are also Audio-Tracks available from Kiss Konfidential. It has subtitles in French, Spanish and Italian. Not the best DVD but still interesting for collectors.

GENE IN CHICAGO
(from Chad)
G
ene Simmons made an appearance in Chicago on Saturday Aug 18. He came to the Chicago comic convention and made an announcement at the DARK HORSE COMICS booth, saying that there will be 4 new Kiss comics with them, each one would represent each member. Tickets were given out for an autograph session,
only 150. Gene signed anything and everything you handed him, and gladly took photos with anyone that asked. He is sporting a new short hair style, and looks very muck like he did bank when he was in the RUNAWAY movie. He looks great, and was in great spirits! I attached a nice shot of Gene from the event.

KISS KOLLECTED FOR 4 DISC BOX SET
(from
www.billboard.com via Erich Unterleuthner)
Kiss fans now have more to look forward to than the announcement of what are expected to be the band's final live shows ever. On Nov. 6, Mercury will release an 80-track, four-disc box set spanning the band's entire career. Along with Kiss' best known songs will be about 20 rare tracks, including early demos of the songs "Strutter" and "Deuce," rare live recordings of "Firehouse" and "Acrobat" recorded in 1973, as well as recordings of the pre-Kiss incarnation of the band, Wicked Lester.

Compiled and designed with substantial input from the members of the band, the box set will also include a 96-page booklet with rare photos and a band history.

In other news, the holiday episode of the Fox animated series "The Family Guy" to which the members of Kiss contributed their voices last year is expected to air this season. Originally intended for broadcast last year, "A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas" was shelved when the show was put on hiatus. A spokesperson for the network says the series is slated in for Fox' upcoming Thursday night line-up, so it is probable the episode will air in December.

The Kiss Farewell tour kicked off in March 2000, and wrapped its most recent leg with March dates in Japan and Australia. As previously reported, original drummer Peter Criss was replaced by one-time Kiss drummer Eric Singer for that most recent round of tour dates.

At the time, Criss said that bandleaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley ceased negotiations with him regarding the tour. It is possible he will be back in the fold when the band plays its final gigs, but nothing about further shows, nor Criss' status in Kiss, has been announced.

KISS NEWS
(from http://www.eddietrunk.com/report/ )
Once again, SNR made MAJOR headlines when JJ French of Twisted Sister announced last Saturday that Ace Frehley told him he was no longer in Kiss!! Every web site and magazine has chased this story. Incredible response from SNR, it blows me away every time. I haven't spoken with Ace in a month or so, but I have found out the REAL DEAL, as you would expect from this site. Ace is out of Kiss, BECAUSE THERE IS NO KISS RIGHT NOW!!!! As you all know by now, Kiss is a business. Ace doesn't have a new contract with the band, his last one expired after the final Australian show. Like any employee in a high profile job, you don't have a job unless you have a contract! Ace is moving forward with a solo career. Should Kiss decide to do anything and want him included, they have to cut a new deal with him. This is not the first time this has happened, and probably won't be the last. For now Kiss is OVER. If Gene and Paul do more, they will then approach Ace. That's the REAL story, ONLY on www.eddietrunk.com!!!! There is NO news on ANY future touring for the band, INCLUDING a final NYC show! If something changes, you will hear it hear first! (and please pay no attention to all the websites who lifted this story from SNR and didn't credit the SOURCE!!)

KISS NEWS
(from Metal Edge Online)
I
n addition to the biography he's working on for Crown Books, Gene Simmons plans to write a book about success in show business and has been in negotiations for a series of KISS books including a Halloween pop-up book. Additionally, photographer Waring Abbott is working on a book that wil feature his photos and stories from Simmons and Paul Stanley. Meanwhile, Simmons has been asked to be a presenter at the Miss Nude USA pageant at the Ponderosa Sun Club, a nudist colony in Illinois, on August 18 and 19. See Kissonline.com for more. As for the Farewell Tour, we hear that it may not hit Europe after all, though a multiple night last stand is still being talked about for New York's Madison Square Garden, possibly around New Year's. There's a good chance Peter Criss will play these shows.

SEBASTIAN BACH SHOWS HIS KISS ROOM

(from Andreas Balzer)

Yesterday I saw "Cribs" on MTV Germany where they show living rooms of famous people. They showed Sabastian Bachs house, he had Kiss posters and Kiss stuff everywhere. Even in his living room and rehearsal room he had Kiss posters on the wall. He also had Kiss stickers on his car. They also showed the Kiss Alive Action figures, so it must have been a recent report.
